Need advice on tattoo care………?
I have a tattoo ( a really nice koi fish ) that is now 6 months old and is totaly healed. But there are areas of scar tissue where the artist had to do detailed work, and these places arealways dry and itchy. I use regular lotion but it comes right back. any suggestions?

Don’t scratch those areas! Whatever you do! Those areas will end up colorless and faded within a couple years. (Experience talking here……) i know this sound weird, but what really helped me was a mixture of two drops of lavender essential oil into 10 drops of olive oil. The lavender soothes irritated skin and the olive oil super-moisturizes. Just put a tiny dab of the oil mixture on those areas whenever you think about it. I like this remedy so much I still use it to this day to keep my tats from getting ashy. Good luck!

He is the best judge of how
your skin was before and now after.
the olive oil/lavander oil is a really great suggestion. also vitamin e oil helps soften scars and is extremely moisture-rich. do go see the artist as well though.
i had a couple of places on my foot heal with a tiny raised scar and i put a+d on it every day for about three or four months and it finally went down. but i started doing it from the moment i noticed it (right after the rest of it was healed). since it has been 6 months i’m not sure if it’ll work but you can try.
It sounds to me that your artist went too deep on those parts that are bothering you. I suggest going back to your tattoo artist and see if he has any suggestions on soothing those parts.
I don’t have a tattoo but I do have my nipples pierced and what I use on them is neem oil…neem oil is anti fungal anti viral and anti bacterial…you can probably just use lotion with neem oil or cream with neem oil…
